Introducing the new and improved Rolex Submariner and Submariner Date, part of the 2020 lineup

After delaying product launches and temporarily closing factories due to the coronavirus, Rolex has finally unveiled its long-awaited new lineup for 2020, including new Submariner and Submariner Date models that have been slightly upgraded.

Redesigned Submariner Ref. 124060 No Date and Submariner Date Reference. The 126610 will replace the existing model, with a slightly larger 41mm case (above 40mm) and a revamped bracelet. The collection is also equipped with new movements, Caliber 3230 for the Submariner and Caliber 3235 for the Submariner Date, both state-of-the-art Rolex movements for the first time in the Submariner. They offer a power reserve of 70 hours compared to the 48 hours of previous movements. Over the past few years, Rolex has been gradually updating the movements of all its watches. Another nuance between the old and new Submariner: there's now a tiny Rolex crown emblem between "Swiss" and "Made" below the six o'clock marker on the dial.

Available in Oystersteel (Rolex’s proprietary stainless steel) model with a black dial and matching Cerachrom (ceramic) bezel, as well as a two-tone steel version - Oystersteel and 18k yellow gold with a royal blue dial and blue Cerachrom bezel. The two new versions of the Submariner Date are Oystersteel with a black dial and green bezel, or 18k white gold with a black dial and blue bezel. The scales and numerals on the bezel are coated with platinum or yellow gold PVD.

The new version of the Oyster bracelet is equipped with Rolex's patented Oysterlock folding safety clasp and the Rolex Glidelock extension system, which can adjust the strap length to 20 mm. On the 18k white gold version of the Submariner Date, the Oyster bracelet includes ceramic inserts within the links to enhance its flexibility and longevity. Water-resistant to 300 meters, the dial is black lacquer. Submariner was last updated in 2012, introducing refs. 114060.
